School Openhouse

Tonight was the boys' open house at school and it was such a turnaround from last years horrible experience. The both have SUCH GREAT TEACHERS and I am SO DANG HAPPY over it! Both are wonderful, positive, fun, motivating, encouraging. Both LOVE school this year and even like doing their homework! (gasp!) Colin says..."Man homework can be fun!" and Brannon works hard to do all his extra assignments because his teacher lets them earn awesome things for doing such. Such great positive reinforcement. I just wanted to hug both teachers with tears in my eyes telling them how grateful I am for them. I know this was a huge blessing & lots of prayers answered for it to work out his way and I am so so so grateful.

Brannon is one of  a few kids his teacher is pushing academically. She had them start chapter books today and I think she was more excited over it then the kids were :)

Colin is one of 6 kids in his class to go to the advanced math class. They take 6 from each 3rd grade class. He is pretty proud of that and works hard.

Evrett

Ah man, Evrett is just too cute for words. Here are a few of his funny things lately:

Remember Evrett's bob the builder birthday party? Well ever since then he has loved The Home Depot and gets excited everytime we pass one! So when we were out for a family trip to Costco he got really excited when he saw "HOME DEPOT!!"

One day Ben came home from work and found Evrett sitting on the floor pouring a large glass of water all over the floor. Ben quickly picked him up, scolded him for making a mess, and put him in his room for a time out where Evrett immediately burst into sobs. After a few minutes Ben went to talk to him about why he had been making such a mess. Evrett's response  between sobs was "I was watering my feet because I want to grow weally weally (really really) BIG"  That melted Ben pretty quick :) I guess he listened well to his preschool lesson on growing gardens!

I was cutting Evrett's hair tonight and, like his brothers, he hates it and turns into a huge baby over the whole thing. I had sprayed the hair down and trimmed the back when I went to comb the hair around his ears and happened to touch his ear. He immediately said in a really annoyed voice "Mom. DONT cut my ear off, okay"

Birthday Fun

We had a few different birthday parties to go to before school started. It was the perfect way to celebrate the end of summer with some friends! Colin's cub scout leader and my friend at church, Esmeralda, has a little boy who turned 4. We spent the whole day outside with her non-member spanish speaking family and a bunch of the missionaries (see them on their bikes in the background :) I had so much fun!! And so did the kids...

Then Evrett went to his friend, Lydia's, Knights & Princesses party where he ate lots of good food and played some fun games. His brothers were jealous!
