Evrett's Birthday Party

Evrett got the "Party Bug" while helping me do lots of planning, shopping, and crafting for Colin's party. He decided awhile ago he wanted a "Bob the Builder" party. I know we've gone a little overboard with these last few parties but they are a really fun distraction AND they allow me to be creative and make things WHILE including the kids in the fun planning & crafting AND they make fun memories :)
We had to do a more generic construction theme b/c bob the builder stuff has been discontinued but we had lots of fun. The wonderful dollar stores here had some awesome hard hats and Home Depot has nail aprons for 70 cents. We invited his preschool friends and their families and a couple other families from our ward. It was a lot of crazy fun!

When one of the preschool moms offered to make Evrett's birthday cake I had no idea how awesome it would be!! Isn't it amazing! And almost equaling amazing that I didnt' have to stress over it. And it tasted so yummy! Evrett LOVED it and would go check on it every few minutes during the day :)

Everyone who came brought a side dish to share and then we grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. We played a few games, a boulder been bag toss into a dump truck, a bingo game, and {their favorite} a wrecking ball game. The kids also got to build a picture holder from scrap wood and use the drill with Ben's help. Finally we ended with a Construction cone pinata with pull caution tape!

At the very end we opened a few presents from my parents. He got a new book, a coloring board for church, a dump truck!, and a stack of new kid cups which he LOVES! plus a fun I SPY go fish game (he loves the books) and a big green bounce ball and some punch balloons. Needless to say he was in heaven :)

Evrett is 3!!!!!

He was so so so so so excited to open presents!! He opened some from my parents the day before at his party so on his birthday he got some cards from his Great Johnson and Great Hartmann grandparents as well has Grammy & Grandpa J.

Since we did a birthday party the only gift we bought him was a pack of gum :) He was so excited to have HIS own pack and was so nice to share with all of us! I think he would only chew a piece for a few minutes, then spit it out and get a new one so the pack didn't last long but he had fun with it.

My grandparents gave Evrett some fun little summer chairs to share with his brothers.

And Aunt Haylee, Uncle Luke, and Lily have him a fun sit and spin swing for our backyard! He loves it!!

My baby is grown up and he knows it! He won't let me hold his hand or help him with things anymore....it makes me kinda sad! He loves running around with Colin and Brannon and their friends and he has finally gotten comfortable playing with kids his own age. Here are some things he LOVES right now:

Candy
Cookies
Juice
Gum
*He has such a sweet tooth!
Pizza
Trader Joe's froze macaroni and cheese
quesadillas-but he pulls the cheese and tortillas apart to eat it all seperately
Green beans and cucumbers-he eats by the handfuls but won't touch any other vegetable

playing wrestling, chasing, hide n seek games with his brothers
playing board games with me
he asks to watch "vovies" (movies) all day long (he used to hate TV but loves it now)
he loves playing basketball and catch
blowing bubbles
playing on playgrounds

going to preschool with his "best friends!"
planning parties :)

washing dishes
helping mom and dad cook

being the first to wake up every morning and yelling "MOM! I WANT SOME CEREAL!"

yelling at his brothers-he blames them for things when they aren't even in the same room as him

Being Silly!! he is really good at this.

laughs hysterically when he hears any potty talk

We all just love Evrett so much and he brings so much happiness into our lives. Even when he is in one of his rotten moods he just makes us all smile :) I am so grateful to have him!

This is his very first "Self Portrait" :)

Basketball

Colin and Brannon played basketball for the first time this year. They enjoyed it. Here are the best pictures I could get. The gym was also so crowed with horrible lighting and they boys all moved too fast :)

Colin's coaches took the kids out for pizza at this place that makes HUGE pizzas. The boys had a lot of fun!

The end of season Championship game was my favorite. They took the 10 teams in each age group and made two really big teams. Each team got to play for 2 minutes, then would switch to the next group. They did it 3 times. Brannon's should have gone into double overtime but we ran out of time so after the first overtime they ended with a tied score. Colin's team just barely lost but it was such a fun game to watch.

Colin in scouts

Colin started Cub Scouts back in February and LOVES it. They had the Pine Wood Derby a few weeks ago and he had a lot of fun making his car with Ben. Colin drew out his design and then traced it onto the block of wood for Ben to carve out. Since Ben wasn't home much in February he took them a few weeks but we all think it turned out pretty cool!! The Scout leaders did too b/c he won the "Best Design" award. The car itself raced average...took 2nd and 3rd a couple times each which wasn't what Colin was hoping for but overall it was a lot of fun!
