Cody Bear is ONE!
The days are long but the months are short. That is a perfect description of this last year since Cody was born. Holy hannah has it tested my patience, endurance, and strength. I have felt stretched so thin between the kids, home, church, ben, etc. But I have also felt SO MUCH JOY at the same time. I really don't know how a whole year has passed already. Cody, you have been a pain sometimes, you are stubborn, and opinionated, and high strung but I absolutely love every little part of you. When we make eye contact your whole face just transforms into the most heart melting smile I have ever seen and I really feel my heart might burst with love and joy. We all feel the same way! You are a riot that keeps us on our toes. Here are a few more things about you:
*Your favorite place to go is up the attic stairs to the boys room. This is because their window is just low enough for your little eyes to peek over the edge and look outside. You also figured out that the screen has a hole perfect for throwing things out. That is your second favorite thing to do :)
*You have an Obsession with pens and pencils. If one is anywhere in your sight...even in a stranger's hand...you WANT IT badly (this is where stubborn comes in) and you won't give up.
*You also still love baby girls. I have yet to see you so fascinated with a baby boy, but those pretty little girls get you so excited you try climbing all over them everytime (again with strangers too)
*You love love love being outside. in the dirt, bark, mud, grass, rocks, cement, on slides, playgrounds, and in swings. You have perfected crawling on your feet so that your little knees don't scrap across whatever terrain you've decided to conquer.
*You are bright. You know how things work. You know that buttons do amazing things. You figured out how to turn the keyboard on by yourself (well probably by watching others do it). You also know how to tease...what will bug your brothers. You love pulling the volume knob off the speakers because you know it gets a huge reaction from them. If their homework is left anywhere within reach you love to "help" them out with the pen/pencil that can usually be found in your hand.
*You are just barely barely beginning to want to walk. You can't. But you can sometimes stand by yourself for a bit. I think 30 seconds was the longest before you carefully sat yourself down. You sure looked proud of yourself though.
*You love balls! Love love love chasing them and throwing and bouncing them.
*You say a few words: Dad, Uh-oh, Yes, woof woof, and catch. I'm really not sure what your first word was. You kinda started saying dad and yes at the same time and one day, weeks ago, you said woof woof when you saw a dog but didn't do it again until just recently so I dont' know if that counts.
*You say "yes" when you want something. So if you see me drink water and you want some you go "yes, yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yss" until I give it to you.
*You have 6 teeth.
*You still get up a time or two at night to nurse
*You get scared kinda easily. I think this is because you are so aware of all that is around you that you just are kind of jumpy. Your feelings get hurt kinda easily too. You have a very sad sad face.
