Ward Halloween Party

Even though I'm writing this post 4 months after this ward halloween it still gives me a bit of a panic attack thinking about it because I was in charge of it and it was SO MUCH STINKIN WORK. The RS president wanted to do the food part of it which was nice in some ways but she doesn't know what "simplify" means:

I was in charge of organizing the Chili cookoff, judges, prizes, set up, decorations, photo booth, trunk or treat organization and games for both kids and adults and the costume & trunk contests. I did my best to delegate things out and keep it as simple as possible. The Young Men and Young Women and a couple of my primary teachers were all in charge of a carnival type game for the kids, the Elders Quorum organized the parking and flow of the trunk or treat, a RS sister did the photo booth and my counselors each took a few things to be in charge of. But it was still a lot of work. We had almost 200 people there, 60 were kids. We didn't have enough space at all but we used all the tables the church has. People had a blast and it went really really well.

Fishing for prizes:
The Activity Day's girls did a puppet show for all the kids while the parents got their cars ready for the trunk or treaters. It was on Halloween safety and was really cute.

People went all out on their trunks. It was probably my favorite part to see what everyone came up with!

It was a good, learning experience for me. I feel for all those who served as activities leader in the past. There is so much to think about and organize for everything to run smoothly! But it sure is fun to celebrate holidays with our ward family.
