Colin's HAPPY 9th!!

Our kids are old. at least it feels that way! We made Colin his breakfast of choice-omelet & toaster strudel and then sent him off to school with a bunch of glazed donuts to share with his class for a treat :) That night he had cub scouts so his requested dinner (without Ben who was working) was to go to Culver's where I let him order a double bacon cheeseburger ADULT sized with cheese curds. He pounded the whole thing and loved it.

That night after Ben got home we opened presents! Ben and I gave him $$ to go pick out a new bike at Walmart. He's been riding the same bike he got at his 4th birthday party. He also got the Harry Potter DVD set (thank you black friday sales!), some money from Grammy J, and a remote control helicopter and Captain underpants book from Grandma Lala. It was  great day for him!

That weekend we had a birthday party with his friends. It was probably the easiest and cheapest party ever. He didn't want a theme or anything special. He just wanted to order pizza and make marshmallow shoots from pvc pipes. He has a really fun group of friends too...really good kids. They had a blast running around shooting marshmallows everywhere! It was a mess! :)

he really wanted lime sherbet & 7up for his drink...

And for his cake he wanted a store bought angel food cake from Sam's Club. Seriously SO EASY. Loved it!

COLIN @ 9

*Loves to read! He hops around from book to book (Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Captain Underpants are some favs)
* Still loves legos, loves to ride his bike and LOVES playing computer games. His new favorite is Mindcraft.
* His best friend is Marcos at school
* He loves going to cub scouts and playing basketball with the young men
* He gets shy around a lot of people he doesn't know
* He is still very smart! His  teacher loves him. He does very well in school in all subjects.
* He is great at taking care of and playing with younger kids. Whenever we babysit he takes charge and takes care of the little ones.
* He is HUNGRY. If I don't cook a MEAL at dinner he gets frustrated with me. He loves meat, pizza, and chicken pot pie but we can't seem to get any bulk on him :) He is a skinny little boy.
* He tries hard to do the right thing.
